Jessica the baker already had a business called Miss Shortcakes which focused on selling desserts for grab, custom cakes, hosted workshops and put out tutorials. With her custom cake business rapidly expanding, she noticed the desserts for grab weren’t as big of a focus as she had hoped. With a deep dive and location search, the target audience was identified.
With that established, it was time to move towards research and analysis of the competition and what we can do better as well as learn from well known companies that the client admired and had similar business locally and internationally. For purposes of it being confidential, we will not dive deeper into this component. The conclusion of this step allowed us to move towards the next stage; Visual Identity.

Equipped with the knowledge of Miss Shortcake business runnings, target audience personas, demographic and competitive analysis, we dove into the stage of visual identity. The client envisioned the brand to be feminine and timeless while trying to bring in nostalgia through the feminine touch. Think pretty in coral pink with flowers and tiffany.
